Zx is older 600. Zzr is new model. Same bike newer look. It's Kawasaki way of bringing back the old zx6. 03-04 model. Which was replaced with the new zx6r and zx6rr. A 636 liter bike set up for superbike

Ouch high sides suck and glad your ok. I pulled one on my 900 luckily I was barely hurt. To clarify for others when I said 250-650 I meant the 650 Ninja which is a less potent bike.
Remember you can have fun on a 250. I have this same bike + an 84GPZ900 but really want a new Ninja 250 as well. They look nice and can be thrown around like a rag doll!
how do u like it? i'm either getting a 650r or zzr600. i've got a zzr250 now, can't afford the insurance on the big bikes. i love the sound of the inline twin (pods (no airbox) and full exhaust) and the inline 4. its still a long 2 years away but i'm already confused on what to get.

Love this bike. The 650r will be much more forgiving then the zzr600. The zzr600 is identical to an 02 zx6-r supersport. Its the same bike so expect lots of power and be careful if you get this one.

As far as "is this a good bike to start on?" Some say you should start smaller while some say start on whatever... It really comes down to you and how well you know yourself. I would say you can start on this bike IF you know you can resist the urge to play too soon. I started on a 900cc Ninja and well that turned out to be a bad idea for ME. I personally recommend starting with a used 250-650 to get comfortable and not be worried about your investment. Nerves can be your worst enemy.

I have to agree. A good 'starter bike' for a 'new rider' would be a 250 or 500. Lots of people have started with 600's 900's etc... and have been fine. Many have not. Having a healthy respect for the power is important. Fearing the power of the bike until you are more experienced is probably a very good thing as well. I had no fear when I bought it. After putting 4000kms on it, I high-sided it. Broke my back and hip. I got lucky and have recovered and still ride. I respect it now :)

Hey I'm looking for a second bike to my KLR650 that's sporty and quick but also makes a good sport tourer for when I go on trips and don't plan on doing dirt riding. How do you like this bike for sport touring?

The ZZR600 is more of a supersport then a sport touring bike. It is very comfortable and very fas. Although it is called a sport touring it is actually kawasaki's supersport of 2002
