Jij bent als een bloempje
zo zuiver, zo mooi en zoet.
Jou zien is zo ontroerend
en weemoed bekruipt m'n gemoed.

Het is alsof ik m'n handen
op je hoofdje leggen moet,
Biddend, opdat God je beware:
zo zuiver, zo mooi en zoet.

You are like a flower,
Beautiful, pure and sweet.
Seeing you makes me care for you
And sadness cines into my heart.

I feel like putting my hands
On your tiny, little head,
Praying, so that God may keep you

Du bist wie eine Blume,
so rein, und schön und hold.
ich schau' dich an, und Wehmut
schleicht mir ins Herz hinein.

Mir ist, als ob ich die Hände
aufs Haupt dir legen sollt',
betend, daß dich Gott erhalte
so rein, und schön und hold.
