Weve recently found the same caterpillar here in N. Ontario, we have Id'd it as a Dagger Moth or Americain Dagger Moth. I handled it 1st an had no problems an then the kiddos held it as well. We put it in a jar with some Oak leaves an small banch and as of yest. it is in its Cocoon Next to his Tussock buddy the kiddos found as well :D
Very cool. I just posted one too... Still getting the hang of You Tube, but it's under CheeseWizzy. Another fuzzy yellow Caterpillar. There's just something striking and humerous about these creatures.

I caught one of these on campus. I carried it around all day in a cup with some leaves and set it free in the park after class.

this is deffinately an american dagger moth catipillar so be carefull when handleing them

I think if they have spikes, they can sting you, but I'm not too sure. They're definately cute though
