PLEASE READ THIS - This sequence is from "Serpent of the Nile" (1953), which was directed by William Castle and starred Rhonda Fleming as Cleopatra; Raymond Burr as Mark Anthony; and William Lundigan as Lucilius. The principal dancer is Julie Newmar, who also appears in Fifties Cheesecake Dance No. 16.

Five feet eleven Newmar had an IQ of 135 and was best know as Rhoda the Robot in "My Living Doll", and as the first Catwoman on the 60s "Batman" TV series.

I am always looking for new ideas for this series. If you have any suggestions please don't hesitate to drop me a line.

  • Since you have alot of these classic clips, do you know by any chance know where I could get the movie "Sign of the Pagan" with Jeff Chandler and Jack Palance? It's hard to find on DVD.

  • Several collectors are selling it on DVD at iOffer.

  • This is my first time seeing Fifties Cheescake, but I do have an idea for you (which probably isn't new); you can NEVER have enough Newmar. Prrrrr.... *lol*

  • Darn right. Have you been to her website? I've exchanged a couple of emails with her about these clips and she sent me a gorgeous Catwoman postcard, which is part of her promotional material for a new book she is compiling about men's fantasies. I'm guessing she sends them to al of the men that write to her.

Have you seen the finale of "The Sexy Ladies of Batman" clip on Youtube? Purrrrfect!

  • IMO this scene/movie is a projection of the mind set/mentality of the people who made this production and run Hollywood.

    Money and subjugation.

  • This is a fascinating comment. Please elaborate on both "money" and "subjugation" in the context of this hokey B-grade 50s fluff.

  • Julie was twenty years old when this was shot. Lord have mercy! 37-23-37! A genius I.Q. and a dancer. They don't make women anything like that anymore.
