@Maxshard I actually looked that one up, i didnt think Queen would still hold it after all this time, and discovered the Aha record lol :o)

@Maxshard 1981 Queen played, playing five sold out stadium gigs in eight days. Also 2 nights at Morumbi Stadium in Sao Paolo. On the first night, 131,000 people attended, it was the largest paying audience for a single band anywhere in the world. During those 2 nights at Morumbi Stadium, 251,000 people saw the Queen spectacle - but, In 1991, A-Ha set a Guinness Book World Record by playing for the largest paying audience in the world: 198,000 people at the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro :o)

@SuperTinyfeet But Queen still hold the record for the largest paying gig, Rod performed for free on the beach.
-
@SuperTinyfeet Well, damned if you aren't right.
-
@Maxshard Rod Stewart holds the record - Brazil - 3 and a half million people ..
-
@Kitebuggy Elton John rounded up almost a half a million people in Central Park New York for a one off gig. The only reason there weren't more is because he'd filled the park and no one else could fit in. Check it out, it must be on Youtube. Simon and Garfunkel crammed even more people into the same location. Queen hold the world record for the biggest paying audience in Brazil and I think Jean Michel Jarre did a freebie for almost two million people somewhere in America once..
Thank you so much
