mewithoutYou Cornerstone 2007 Generator Stage

So, I'm hanging around the generator stage set-up by Illinois metal band Lori Ann. Frontman CJ, excitedly runs up and says, "mewithoutYou might be playing our stage in 15 minutes." Besides being a phenomenal band, Lori Ann had a nice stage with excellent sound and a prime location so it was plausible. It wasn't long before the possibility turned into certainty. mewithoutYou would be playing the generator stage where I already had a front row seat. Word of mouth handled publicity quite nicely and in a matter of minutes there were several hundred in attendance. I had a golf cart so I pulled back to make room for the crowd and then hoisted my happy self up on the roof over the front roll bar. As I looked around me from my position on the cart I could see excited people on top of vendors' trailers, band trucks, standing on one anothers shoulders and perched on the roofs of the showers and adjacent buildings. It was pretty crazy. Crazy fun.

I was at Cornerstone that year. I remember walking past this huge crowd around the generator stage. I had no idea who was going to be playing, so I kept walking. Later my friends told me mewithoutyou had played. I was like, are you serious? I can't believe I missed that. Thanks for posting this and letting me see what I missed out on.

that was the probably one of the best parts of cornerstone this year. actually probably the best part out of my 5 years of going to cstone. my friends played right before mwy, so i got to hear about them playing the stage right away and was able to get a good spot. hahaha that guy was so excited when the guy from mewithoutyou asked him to play the stage

it's so inspiring to see that they're still down to earth enough to play on generator stages instead of the main stage.
