Sustainability is nothing new at Oregon State. We've been doing it for years. And we still are. We were one of the first universities in the country to begin exploring the potential of wind energy in the 1970s. Oregon's 1971 Bottle Bill, the first of its kind in the U.S., is widely considered the start of the recycling movement. OSU's recycling efforts beat it by a year.

Today, OSU recycles more than 2.5 million pounds annually. Our exercise equipment is connected to the grid. The EPA calls us a "Green Power Leader."

And our Student Sustainability Initiative engages more than 500 students a year, and offers them more opportunities to be involved than almost any other campus in the country.

Watch our video on sustainability at OSU, and hear from sustainability coordinator Brandon Trelstad and Student Sustainability Initiative program facilitator Brian Laird to learn more.

And get involved! http://oregonstate.edu/sustainability/
