  • @lloydbrookes10 RIchard Pryor and Jonathan Winters have surprisingly similar styles: both do impressions not of "celebrities" but of characters who represent people they knew; both are outstanding students of human nature and behaviour; both have a love for every character whom they portray, from Maude Frickert to Mudbone. It's small wonder that they had a mutual admiration society.

Sadly, we lost Richard but Jonathan is still working -- most recently as a voice in the Smurfs movie!

  • classic

  • @smush48 yeah, i found that a bit uncomfortable myself.. well, maybe the kids were Prior fans.. a bit young, but who am i to judge?

  • im surprised that those kids were allowed in the studio with him cursing.....

  • this didn't last long did it? I think 2 or 3 seasons. To controversial for TV. Believe it or not though, Late night TV in the 70s and early 80s on mostly independent stations and occasionally on NBC or ABC would show nudity and use the F word since not everyone had cable and they needed to start to compete on their over-the-air affiliates. At least in California and I'm sure NYC or LA. and San Francisco stations. Not a lot but it happen.

  • shit only one white person asked a question!

  • @fr3d420 They'll live.

  • @kloten I love Richard's response because in my opinion, the two greatest comedians ever are Richard Pryor and Jonathan Winters; tied for first place forever!!! That Richard recognised the genius of Jonathan is just one more testimony to his own genius. Man, how I miss Richard Pryor!

  • that kid is Eddie Murphy ok hes not but wouldnt that be funny?
