In regard to harmless vegetarianism; Dawkins should try standing outside "Huntington life-sciences" in Oxford with an "I am a vivisectionist" banner,and see how long it takes for the ALF to sort him out. Additionally,it`s well-documented that Germanic neo-paganism was central to the ideology of the SS, so maybe Hitlers goons were not quite as Christian as everyone else. Maybe as Christian as Stalins goons?

Like Ghandi and MLK jr. Yes. But I also acknowledge the impossibility of disproving (or proving)the existence of God,and, being an optimistic type, I choose to accept the notion of a big,good, "Something". I don`t want to impose my views on anyone else,or suggest that I`m right, because I accept that some philosophical questions are impossible to solve. I just get a bit pissed when I hear people like Dawkins putting me in the same bag as whacked-out extremists. He`s way more extreme than me!

So basically what you are saying is that you see Jesus as someone like Gandhi or MLK jr. but not as a god, right? If that's the case I would say I see no problem with that as long as you don't believe all of the immoral things in the bible or claim that the bible is fact.

Theres plenty of nerve endings in the foreskin being cut away, i would agree that female circumcision is often worse but both are barbaric practices that should be stopped.

It`s widely accepted (by secular historians) that a"Jesus" existed, and it`s not illogical to assume that the Bible`s description of His teachings has some level of documentary value (unlike Harry Potter ;) ). I tend not to focus on the "miraculous" aspects of the Book, I`m more interested in the philosophy. If miracles happened;cool. If not, it doesn`t alter the fact that the Man laid down a philosophy which has been a positive influence on ME. You want "fiction"? you got politicians!

@hypermite01 lets get back..... your god didnt do this! If there is any creationist he never reveal to human race. So if there is no prof that something/someone created universe then we must discover how this happened and that is what humankind is doing! Science seeks answers and making discoveries that makes our life so fun and nice! If not tnem then we all would be still sitting in fucking huts without clothes and we would just born-live-die only praying/making sacrifices from virgins...

I reckon that an "imaginary" friend that I can rely on is ok. You could use the term "conscience" to describe my God. I think that the Jesus character in Mark, Mathew and Luke in the Bible was a great guy. He knew that He`d get snuffed by the authorities, but He kept on doing the right thing, telling people to be nice to eachother, kicking the money-changers out of the temple. If He never existed, it doesn`t matter to me. I just want to be unafraid, cool,and kind like jesus in the Book.
