Seeing as this was the first lap there was no reason to be that agressive going into the hair pin... theres no way he could dive in at that angle even with more room and not cut someone off.... he should have backed off let the p1 car in as it was obvious b4 the p1 car cut in that it would eventually and take the corner clean even if he lost a spot doing that its better than taking himself and an inocent driver out with him
@I8ASUPRAforLUNCH I agree. He had no traction in the grass after the P1 car cut him off. Werner was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But at the same time, He could've T-Boned a P1 car instead. Either way, there was going to be contact.
I blame Melo for this one. He's the one who takes the risk so there you go, he pays for it. I felt sorry to Dirk though. He was going nice but it was just unfair to have such awkward accident. I hope both drivers did apologized each other. Case off..
Personally, i dont blame Melo, He aimed for a space, the prototype chopped in front of him then braked. Prototype brakes are twice as good as GT car brakes, so the Porsche couldnt slow quick enough, plus he was forced onto the grass.
Melo came fast and took the risk at narrow space... and at 1:13 tried to avoid the LPM2 proto (I guess) and at 1:15 the car touched the grass... finished
Kirk was unlucky... Melo was at time the collision with no control...
i live 50 miles from sebring and have been driving down and coming back every day since tuesday =) . i managed to get some vip passes to the hotel and had mr donny panoz sit next to me the other day and not even know who he was. im having a blast!
turn 7 is NASTY . you come to that corner at top speed , and start downshifting like crazy , and shiftlock it and start sliding. he just got too confident and couldnt make the turn.
not the 1st and only time melo did that
