ChicoBag, a Northstate manufacturer of reusable shopping bags, is being sued by three companies that make disposable plastic bags.
Hilex Poly Company, Superbag Operating Ltd. and Advance Polybag, Inc. are asking the court to stop ChicoBag from blaming disposable bags for environmental damage or from claiming that ChicoBag products are better for the environment.
They are asking that any profits made from the alleged false statements be handed over, and that ChicoBag also pay for damages the bag makers may have suffered.

While paper is preferable because you can at least compost paper, it is still overall better to use a REUSABLE bag.
We are a throwaway society. Our landfills are filling up AND we do waste a lot of energy "recycling" things when we could just avoid that route altogether and take some personal responsibility and just use things that are REUSABLE in the first place!. Yes, maybe we would have to change our habits. Corporations depend on humans being lazy and selfish!

The thing about this lawsuit is that it is essentially setting up a fake issue. The Plastic bag manufacturers are essentially claiming libel. Who cares of Chico is saying it is 1% or 11% or what is actually the accurate percentage. The fact of the matter is that PLASTIC overall is bad to have in our environment. It is much more logical AND much more mature to use reusable bags. Why are we such a lazy society anymore?. This is also not an argument about plastic vs paper. Who cares.
