http://www.sapphiresteel.com Learn to program Ruby with videos, a free eBook and the source code of all the example programs. Huw Collingbourne is author of The Book Of Ruby: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1593272944/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&a...

For a much more in-depth Ruby tutorial, you may want to subscribe to my online Ruby course at: http://www.udemy.com/learn-ruby-programming-in-ten-easy-steps/ This has dozens of all-new Ruby videos which go into much more detail.

This tutorial discusses class hierarchies and object inheritance. For more information, read Chapter Three of The Little Book Of Ruby which you can download from the SapphireSteel Software web site, the company behind the Ruby In Steel (Ruby) and Amethyst (Flash Platform) IDEs for Visual Studio.

  • Is there any TUT. number 4?!

  • @ahmadnamavar There will be eventually. My company is just about to launch our Flash platform IDE (called Amethyst) and I have no free time available at the moment. In the meantime, remember that we have two free Ruby programming books to download. The YouTube videos are all based on The Little Book Of Ruby. If you want to go more in depth we have have The Book Of Ruby which is about 425 pages long and comes with all the examples in source code. I will do more videos later though :-)

  • Glad to be of help. Once you've finished The Little Book Of Ruby (which is deliberately kept short to concentrate on all the most important topics) you might also want to read my much bigger book, The Book Of Ruby (425 pages in 20 chapters). Both books and all the code are free and can be downloaded from our web site. I'll be posting more video tutorials soon.

    Best wishes

    Huw
