Jupiter makes perfect sense. He was the chief Roman god (aka Greek Zeus) - hence 'my beard so very long and flowing'.

Amazing! Really true to the spirit of the song. Check out my version, which is kind of ordinary, but I fixed a few lyrics which weren't working. "Jupiter" makes no sense, for instance. (of course, "Juniper" is just bizarre, man).

Wasn't "Jacky" originally Jacques Brel, with this particular translation performed by Scott Walker? (I suppose I should also reference the Marc Almond version, which leads me neatly to a video response. God, I'm an anorak!)
