  • Thanks a lot! I had always wondered, ever since I heard the expression in one of Hair (the musical) songs.

  • Not stupid at all! The title refers to the A subway service that runs through New York City, going at that time from eastern Brooklyn up into Harlem and northern Manhattan, using the express tracks in Manhattan.

    Try googling "The A Train" with quotes.

  • Stupid question: What's an "A" train? (I'm not American, and googling it doesn't do any good)
