For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. (1 Corinthians 14:2 KJV)
Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. (1 Corinthians 14:39 KJV)
I would have thought that a so called "pastor" would have done a little bit of reading before he made the accusation that people who speak in tongues were not saved.
Seems to me this pastor likes his position of power too much. It's my experience that some people like to be 'revolutionary' because it makes them feel superior. I'm not one to expound the virtues of any particular denomination (all churches are organised & run by humans, with all the usual human failings, I'm afraid), but complaining about & condemning other Christians, or making judgements which are only God's to make does not testify to God's grace or wonderful love for ALL of His creation.
Amen. I have preached on this before. I live in Clarksville Indiana, minutes from the birthplace of William Branham. Southern Indiana is becoming over run with Branhamites. So every time we run into Jesus only people, they try to hit us with any number of strange doctrines.
Which Pentecostals believe you have to be baptized to be saved? I was brought up Pentecostal and they absolutely don't believe that, or at least the groups I have been exposed to. Also, the Church of Christ who believe baptism saves you is definitely not Pentecostal.
"John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire" Luke 3;16
The baptism of salvation is with the Holy Ghost, not with water, but with living water. "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." John 7;38. And the next verse specifies that the Holy Ghost is living water.
My goodness Pastor Anderson. I haven't even finished listening to the whole message, and I love it so far. I didn't before believe that baptism was necessary to be saved, but after the scripture you shared in 1Cor. that makes a whole lot of sense. That's so clear, someone would have to be really ignorant to refute that.
YOu don't have a clue as to what you're talking about..
