Welcome on board Continental Airlines's Flight CO1606 from Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey / New York to Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, Florida. The flight time today will be just about 3 hours due to Thunderstorms down in Florida, so we changed our route so that we can get a much smoother flight. The Aircraft we're flying today is a Boeing 737-900, a brand new 737. This is a very hot day in New York with over 100 degrees. In the start of the video you can see Manhattan and it's skysrapers in the horizon. This includes the Empire State Building. As we started our climb towards our cruise altitude of 35.000 feet we're getting a nice view of both Liberty Island with the Statue of Liberty and a nice airborne view of Financial District of Manhattan, New York. The further south we got, the more clouds started to appear, and when we landed very smooth landing after a bit bumpy approach it was pooring as I've never see before. The airport was more like a big, shallow lake than a airport in paradise. You can see in the grass when we are starting to taxi down in Fort Lauderdale that the rain have been pooring for the whole day. Please enjoy this cross country flight with Continental's Boeing 737-900 on a flight from New York to Fort Lauderdale.

  • I was expecting it to be at night and with lightning strikes like you get in Miami. but the flight would of been diverted then, and the Airport would of been under code RED or BLACK.

    good vid thought.

  • Enjoyed the vid but I never did see the inside of a thunderstorm.

  • nice vid..
