John Denver is coaxed back onto the stage one last time and sings 'Thank God I'm a Country Boy' live in Vina del Mar, Chile, in 1985.

This was John's final song in his one and only concert in that country.

The clip ends with a brief interview on Chilean TV.

John Denver performs:
DANCING WITH THE MOUNTAINS
JOHNNY B. GOOD
SUNSHINE ON MY SHOULDERS
SHANGHAI BREEZES
MY SWEET LADY
LEAVING ON A JET PLANE
TAKE ME HOME, COUNTRY ROADS
ANNIE'S SONG (Intro in Spanish!)
CALYPSO
PERHAPS LOVE
THANK GOD I'M A COUNTRY BOY

  • Grandioso! Gracias por compartirlo! Great, thaks for sharing.

    Regards from Ecuador, SouthAmerica.

  • Thank you for looking too! You are always welcome.

  • @michaeldonegan From Chile, thanks for this video. It shows a beautiful moment with John Denver. It was in those horrible days that we lived in Pinochet dictatorship: at the time, JD came and made us happy with his music and his overflowing talent. A detail: with this song JD closed the 2nd. concert that he presented in Viña 1985 (he talkes about this in 4:31). For his performance, he received 2 torches of silver (a prize that the audience gives to the artists). Regards and again, thank you.

  • @jbfletcher29 Thank you for your kind reply. You are salways welcome. Incidentally, do you know the date for this concert?

  • Thanks for posting this video!! I was rigth there! Did not know it would be the last time I'd see John Denver....

Look for a cheesy lightblue sign with "we love John Denver" on one side and "We love Sheena Easton on the other"..that's me..

    cheers!

  • My pleasure.

  • Wonderful song sung by a great man. We really miss him.

    Thanks a lot for posting

  • De lo mejor que paso por el festival, lastima que el festival de ahora es una mierda

  • @jbfletcher29 Oh my goodness! You guys were under a dictatorship? is that why he was only allowed to come 1 time? wow. There is this sad feeling when i listen to this song; it's probably because your totalitarian government was making you guys so isolated--and his music was was like a bright little light to you. Talent comes from where God is --- he was showing you guys how freedom feels! bittersweet.

  • I miss you john, I will carry on your music and never let it die.

  • Thank God I'm a Country Boy
