Ducati 848 - Sportbike Motorcycle Review

A middleweight Ducati Superbike is not exactly a new concept, so why is there so much buzz about the release of the 2008 Ducati 848 Superbike? At first glance the 848 appears to be a de-tuned and rebadged 1098. In fact, the new bike shares the majority of its basic architecture with 1098 but at the heart is a purpose built L-Twin Evoluzione powerplant that purportedly puts out an impressive 134 hp and 96 lb-ft of torque. Yeah I had a Gixxer 600 K7 and my 848 is quicker.. not much in it tho considering the price difference.. But the Ducati is beautiful, a real head turner, rides brilliantly, sounds amazing and looks to die for

So your claim that Suzukis dominate Ducatis in stock motorcycle racing is not backed up by the facts, which indicate the opposite.

AMA SBK may be the "most notable stock race series" in the U.S., but not elsewhere. If you need to lower the bar for Suzuki, fine. But America is not the center of world motorcycle racing.

Take a guess where most WorldSBK teams, even Japanese factory teams, are based . . . in Italy.

If you don't like Ducatis, then stop watching Ducati posts and talking trash! OK?!

The "most stock race series" would be the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup, where a Ducati rider has been champion for the last 2 years in a row.

AMA Superbike is the NASCAR of motorcycle racing. The only non-Japanese bikes being 2 Ducatis, which are not factory sponsored, and 2 Buells in a field of more than 40. Most of the field rides a Suzuki.  It would be hard to call that domination, unless you just mean there are simply more of them.

It you want to talk domination, look at Ducati in WorldSBK.
