I got tired of building props off an old wood door on sawhorses. So, I put out a thread asking other prop builders on Halloweenforum.com what they would like in a workshop. After working on my workshop for months, this is what I ended up with. My Ultimate Prop Builder's Workshop....Terra's Lair.

  • @spearmintmonkey They might sell oak sheets. I don't know how big they'd be but I've see all kinds of oak stock there.

  • @Scaryladyvideos Do they even sell solid Oak sheets or are they all laminated stuff with a thin piece on oak on the top? Fantastic looking setup you have there. Your video is making me want to get busy with my benches. :-)

  • @spearmintmonkey Yes, got it there or Lowe's...now I can't remember which. Oak would be even better!

  • @Scaryladyvideos You get this wood at Home Depot also?

I would like some Oak for top of my benches.

  • @spearmintmonkey They are 24" deep. I used laminated pine. It's not surface laminated, it's all wood. It's a pretty cool piece of wood! It's about an 1" thick.

  • @Scaryladyvideos Yes, that is a nice long bench. How deep are the 3 six foot benches?

  • @spearmintmonkey Basically, plus lots and lots of wood screws. There are three 6' long workbenches butted up to each other that I think is what you are referring to. The wood top is 6' pine board we got at Home Depot. I basically followed the plans from HammerZone. Search for A Cheap and Sturdy Workbench for $20. Hubby took that idea and tweaked it a bit and I followed his design. The best part is that you can amend the design to make shelving or the big workbench.

  • What did you use for that long bench?

    2 X 4's and plywood?

    Nice :)

  • @HALLOWEENALIVE Thanks but I'm impressed with your list of tools! Man, I'd love to have a table saw!

  • Awesome. I unfortunatly live in a townhome so I have no real garage, so I am in total envy! The more tools I aquire the cooler projects I am willing to attempt to construct. I have the welder, Chop saw and grinder so I feel ready to start building with metal. And I have the sliding miter saw, Cir. saw, jigsaw and both a vibration sander and a belt sander so I have what I need for wood props. But having these things all layed in organization is really inspiring.
