  • Do not worry about using tin foil. People have been using it for years to cook yams, baked potatoes, corn on the cobb, etc. Do you know of a place that has classes on Dutch Oven cooking? Those rolls you made looked better than any I have cooked in a conventional oven. I was drooling when you smeared butter on them. Someday when things start to get really nasty in terms of not having electricity and/or gas coming into our homes, we need to be more self-reliant and Dutch Ovens can save the day.

  • do not use tin foil(aluminum) if there are tomatoes in the dish, the acid in the tomatoes cause a reaction with the aluminum foil. dutch oven gloves, go the tractor supply and but welding gloves.
