La ragione umana ha solo bisogno di volontà più forte del destino, e Lei è il destino. (Thomas Mann, La montagna incantata (Der Zauberberg), 1924.)

Ispirato da La montagna incantata di Thomas Mann, Pier Giorgio De Pinto (Italia-Svizzera, 1968) dà corpo a questo nuovo lavoro performativo dal titolo evocatore Pneuma attorno al tema del respiro, del soffio vitale, ma anche anima, principio originario e archetipo come connessione alla vita e alla realtà (im)materiale dell'uomo.

Inoltre, la concomitanza di affinità personali e professionali tra l'autore, la danzatrice Sara Nesti (Italia, 1973) e il compositore Giovanni Dal Monte (Italia, 1967), già autore di sound per i suoi video, fa di questa performance un omaggio all'attrice e al compositore stessi nel loro divenire personale, tra immaginario soggettivo e globale, lentamente trasceso entro l'evoluzione della performance.

Le musiche, appositamente create dal compositore e musicista Giovanni Dal Monte, accompagnano questa metamorfosi. Nel brano musicale, reso universale poiché comprende anche un coro cantato in esperanto, si percepiscono suggestioni che ci connettono al vasto mistero della natura e al ciclo vitale dell'essere umano.

Human reason needs only to will more strongly than fate, and She is fate.(Thomas Mann, The magic mountain (Der Zauberberg), 1924.)

Inspired by The magic mountain by Thomas Mann, Pier Giorgio De Pinto (Italy-Switzerland, 1968) created this new performative work entitled Pneuma. Thematically the performance evokes the theme of breathing, of the vital blow and soul as well; of the original beginning and archetype linked to life and (im)material human reality.

Besides, the merge of personal and professional affinities among the author, the dancer Sara Nesti (Italy, 1973) and the composer Giovanni Dal Monte (Italy, 1967), who already composed many times sound tracks for his video works, transforms Pneuma performance into an homage to actress and composer for their personal becoming, in balance between subjective and global imagery slowly transcended into the evolution of the performance itself.

The sounds, especially created by the composer and musician Giovanni Dal Monte, accompanies this metamorphosis. In the music score, becoming universal as it also comprises a singing choir in Esperanto, you perceive influences relating us to the vast mystery of nature and to the vital cycle of human being.
