But they don't fit either of those definitions. They seem no different than any of the other Touhou characters.
The only thing I can think of is that they're mad that they beat some of their favorite characters or are screwing up the established power levels they had in their head, which is really silly.

Probably because Toyohime and Yorihime are massive canon mary-sues in a lot of western fans' eyes.
They both easily fall under The Wesley article in TVTropes, too.
