Try to find motivation for the pass. It looks really suspicious that you have to "square the cards" for so long.

I'd suggest to bottom palm the card before putting the cards into the card case. If you put the case onto the cards for no reason it makes no sense and even a layman might think "Oh I know what he did, when he put the box onto the cards he stole my card."
