We've tried Ford's latest direct-injection EcoBoost turbo engines in the C-MAX, Mondeo and S-MAX -- but this is our first taste of the new 180bhp 1.6-litre, which debuts in the 2011 Focus and goes on sale in November.

  • WE WANT MATT !

  • I really have to say one thing first… I am not a very good car connoisseur, but I am not that bad to recognize good or bad things in a car, and most important, you have to own one or have tested one at least to say something reasonable or have an opinion, and I can see many comments here are rubbish only because they are in love with a certain make or model, etc. We have to have an open mind or to be mature enough if someone needs advise and not a blind negativity....

  • I thought this guy will fall asleep in some time :D

  • One of the rare times I watched a car review and yawned.

    Reviewer needed strong coffee prior.

  • A few years later people will say: Ford Focus 3? - a nice car, Ford Focus 2? - classic.

  • man this guy is so bias regarding the styling of the car. i think anyone who reviews a car should keep their opinions dubbed down at least and stick with the practicality

  • I can remember when magazine road testers where grown men, usually with some engineering credentials who actually understood how the cars they tested worked! Now we have some youth with his shirt hanging out and a degree in media studies.

  • @urbex2007 Yeh its mostly the taxes that wreaks the chances for someone my age to buy a car like this. The government says that they want more people to drive environmentally friendly cars and tax cars after the size of the engine. So instead of buying a new car, I now cruise around in a 92' Volvo 940 that gets me 19 MPG wtf

  • @sangolt88 £35000? GBP? No way! I'm in the UK and the car costs under £24,000 fully loaded with diesel engine, powershift and other options. You can build your own on the Ford web site. Compare it to a Vauxhall Astra 2.0cdti auto at £24,000. I would definitely go for the Ford after driving both cars. Vauxhall dealerships are con merchants in this country and loads have closed after going bankrupt because people unhappy went elsewhere - to independant garages who don't lie/overcharge..

  • @Jethrowtool I would agree, but the best way to decide would be to hire the car for a week and give it a good try out over different roads and at different times. I'm in the UK and would like the Powershift one as stop/start traffic in town is mainly the driving I do. I'm not convinced the braking on the inside wheels is a good idea, you might wear out a lot of brake pads unevenly. They say nothing about leaving the car running to let the turbo spool down after a long/fast trip.

  • I dont want to drive a "peach" LOL

  • @SparkySlow obviously but hes on carbuyer's youtube channel
