The transposition of the Ratatouille speech with the Marla video was brilliant. I think this is a lovely painting, and required no adult's help. (Remember, her dad did art therapy, he was never an artist.) It's sad the media took such joy in making Marla a prodigy, and took as much joy in tearing her down.

well, the picture looks good.....

the only crazy thing I see about abstract art is the possibility of something happening or appearing unexpected. like looking at a stucko ceiling or wall and making figures from what you see. things constantly change. the only thing is, at the end of the day its still stucko made by your average laborer. Abstract art like this is just stucko with color and the truth is anyone can do most of her work. however, for the most part the more polished pieces have a little bit more to it.

I agree - as a painter myself - her work while filmed is a VERY different style and look to her produced work. She didn't seem to be enjoying it all the time - and I truly believe the 'better' work is the fathers. The mother seems like she is carrying around a heap of guilt thought the whole thing as well. Stage dad - ummm, hello!
