I'm writting a report for school on Gene therapy and your videos are really helpful. Your examples are funny, but you make it so easy to understand and your voice is so calming haha.

Well I am so delighted that you find the videos helpful. What do YOU think about it all? I would be so pleased for you to copy and paste part or all of your report into a Post / comment box on my globalchange and com website - the section is biotech.

So you are saying that skin colour, eye colour and hair colour are superficial and should not be based upon, however judging from your comments you leave these superficial things are of extreme importance of you.

You sir are a retarded racist.

Yes humans often judge humans very superficially by appearance. No genetic engineering cannot change appearance unless genes are altered in the embryo.

Thank you for the reply! I was stating that despite humans being very identical in genetics, humans still are very superficial and shallow when it comes to judging other humans. Our societies are based on hierarchy which is somewhat based on meaningless things such as skin color, eye color, hair color, height, physical attractiveness; I have found that even very smart people fall prey to these weaknesses of judging on a shallow basis. Will GE allow people to become physically attractive/pretty?

Wow - very controversial issues! Most scientists would say that there are no differences between races in terms of abilities - although success in things like long distance Olympic running records might suggest otherwise when it comes to physical performance. We already have the technology to analyse human genes in a couple of hours, and soon it will cost less than $5,000 to do so. This could allow - again very controversially - parents to select what of their unborn children are born.

Do you think that genetic engineering will have the ability to solve differences between racial groups and the gaps between them in terms of abilities? Do you believe that manufacturing genes and genetic traits will solve issues of social stratification based on phenotypes and races as is the case in many societies to this day? Will the business of human modification become some sort of market with it's array of catelogues and products and fall under some sort of commercial factory model?
