@pjvdixon I was under the impression that the prospects of somatic genetic engineering are quite a bit lower than those of germline engineering, due to the fact that it's extremely difficult to reliably distribute the modified genes to all the cells in the targeted tissues, which obviously is not an issue for germ cells.

Possible to alter human DNA from a living adult? Like change the height? Is it theoretically possible or must it be in another state of life (unborn)?

@mQtek You can alter DNA of individual cells in a living person. Happening already in medical treatments - gene therapy.
