Sparking inside a dud light bulb when 1500 volts is passed through it using a bug zapper

  • does this work on any bulb or does it have to be a certain type. will CFL bulbs do anything?

  • @coondogtheman1234 Works best if there is a break in the filament, the spark jumps across the gap... lemme try with CFL...

  • Does doing this hurt the bug zapper's HV circuits or is it OK?

    I took a CFL bulb and I have this electronic grill ignitor and when I zap the bulb the area where I zap glows. last night I had this CCFL bulb from a dead portable DVD player and it flashed when I zapped the wires. when I get a couple of those bug zapper rackets I'll modify one and remove the grid and hook the CCFL light up to the wires and try that.
