I've got one of them (because nobody hears my little ping-ping bell). Most people hear it and laugh, but today I was called "rude" and "impolite" for using it on 3 women walking abreast on the cycle lane (while ignoring the adjacent footpath). You just can't win.

@galaxytourer1 I hear ya! I got rid of my little ping-ping bell a while ago in the hopes that something a little louder may help with alerting pedestrians to my presence. Luckily I found a cheap $9 megaphone and after a bunch of messing around to get it to work via handlebar mounted pushbuttons, it now sits underneath the bike frame and blares both a looping electric bell and fire truck horn sound at easily 100 db!!
