One of this year's 4 Hometown Pride Award recipients was Judy Samuelson.Judy grew up in Stearns County and graduated from SCSU. Judy retired in 1996 after 30 years, including Richmond Elementary for 18 years and at Cold Spring Elementary for 11 years. Judy met her second husband, the late Larry Samuelson, at Parents Without Partners, and was married for 25 + years. Together they raised judy's four sons and daughter and Larry's four sons.

Judy has always been available to lend a helping hand. She "gives her all" to every event and organization activity. Some of Judy's involvement includes volunteering at the Middle School Media center, the ROCORI Senior Center, the American Legion's Hometown Pride Days & Firefest food stands, and at Oktoberfest with the Friends of the Library. She has been involved with the Cold Spring American Legion Auxillary for 23 years, and has provided leadership roles in the local club, Girl's State, and is currently the District President.
