  • when racing was controlled by the driver not the computer

  • they practically removed all removable bodywork when they shot this.. must have taken massive balls to drive around monaco without any cowling.. could alonso or anyone else speed around there basically strapped to a seat with wheels and an engine, totally exposed to the elements? hmm...

  • @lyndonlongden Anyone who comes out with the old 'modern F1 cars are easy to drive compared to the good old days' isn't worth listening to, and anyone with this viewpoint don't know what they are talking anyway. Just because early F1 was so dangerous doesn't make them any better at driving the cars. Had Hamilton, Vettel or Alonso or any others been around in the 60's, 70's or 80's they would have been just as good as they are now, regardless of the wheels they have beneath them.

  • @jmaddenl27 Yes they could. and they would. A racing driver is a racing driver - they are a different breed to the rest of us. They don't care how dangerous it is, as long as they are going fast.

  • @Totohl boring boring boring ! when are people like you going to stop moaning about today's F1 drivers ? wow ! Depailler drove without some body work !! god rest his soul but he was just an average f1 driver punting around in an old 500 hp f1 car. Alonso drives what he's given which, by the way puts him through far higher g-forces than any beer swilling 70's driver could dream of handling. you only have to check out the R.O.C to see how adaptable today's drivers are. think of something original.

  • ... beside the lotus 98T this Tyrell was my favourite F1 car.

Aat this time I was a great F1 fan (but I'm not one anymore).

So many brilliant drivers were killed in accidents.

  • man1: " Sir we need more grip "

    man2: " ADD MOAR TIRES!!! "

    man1: " um..."

    man2: "MOOOAARRRRRRRR"

  • Brilliant! How smooth he was - look at his hands on the wheel. One of the most unique F1 cars - what a thrill it must have been to drive it.

Thank you for posting the great Patrick.

  • Au années 50,60,70 les F1 Ressembler a des Kartings !

    Maintenant c'est autre Chose.

Le Circuit de Monaco a un peu Changé aussi !

  • Raw, Balls'y, Brilliant, Love it !

  • Love that sound of the Ford cosworth v8, where can I buy one and make my own old style f1 car.

  • I would not have wanted to be the guy sitting in that car when it was first tested, the other drivers must have been like wtf!?
