New wooden RC boat - 2nd run

Found a problem. It happened twice, once on a fast turn then on a slow straight run cutting back over the wake. Not sure what happened, but it looks like a problem !! I've seen it on other rc boat clips, but I always thought the rudder had stalled. Now I need to think a bit about the design. Any help would be good.

you put any spray rails underneath help with hold and turn.

not yet, only on the water line. I'm going to do a few mods and test when the weather improves in a short while.

Ooops - I did something to try reduce the boat banking in a turn. I cut the rudder down. Still works, but it seemed to increae the suction so the prop is more prone to aeration. Good tip. I'll get another rudder and try modiying it. I'll let you know the results - Thanks

Yup, do it. Try to imagine how boat will act (roll) when rudder is longer, - it will bank in the direction of the turn, as all fast V hulls do ;)

I wanted to reduce the banking to stop the port side of the stern lifting. That was what was allowing air into the prop due to the direction of the prop rotation. It's ok in a left turn. I'm experimenting with ballast, but it's fractions of an oz to get it right. I'll get another rudder anyway and make it thinner. - Cheers

Put a smaller size rudder (length wise) which won't drag your boat while making turn.
