Real Art vs Modern Art

My Art Rant.
Anybody who is into modern art can go to hell because its people like you who are ruining the lives of people who worked their entire lives to portray people, wildlife, fantasy and Science Fiction as real as possible. Color tones, bone structure, shape and form.

Do you realize that Modern art is putting Realistic artists out of business? Its not really a business but more of a way of life that is all they know. Trust me i know! I say to hell with the modern artists! They can rot in hell as far as I care.

I have respect for artists but when they pull the crap that you see now a days and call it modern art I would like to see them fed to the sharks. Literally!

If your an artist, do art for art sake and make it realistic. Not the preschool looking crap these so called professional artists are doing.

The only professional artists in this world are ones who can properly replicate nature in any medium! Weather its nature in fantasy or reality. It has to be realistic...

I know your going to say.. What about cartoons? Heres your answer... I dont watch Tv or Listen to the radio. because theres nothing good on. Cartoons are crap now a days. I dont see any cartoon worth watching. Sure some anime is ok but I dont really care for it.

Back to the subject at hand... If you paint or sculpt, do the world and the future generations a favor and be a realist artist... Give them some idea of what real art is before its too late.

Guess we'd better throw Van Gogh out too, all that "modern" impressionist Starry Night shit's gotta go, can't have any of them fancy brush strokes ruining the flat, stale, badly composed pseudo-photorealism, it's just too ugly and totally just random splatters.

Oh no, don't you see? If it's not phororealistic it doesn't count as art. Symbolism? Emotions? Everyone knows that shit isn't art.

Bowls of fruit are art because it's painting a literal bowl of fruit.

What does it mean? Who cares? Art isn't about what something means, art is about looking pretty and realistic. Being pretty and realistic are the only thing that matters in art.

Some of the Modern art paintings were very amazing, but I agree with you. I feel that most modern art have no type of skill or communication with the people. I feel that as an artist and a future animator I think skill should be treasured than splashing paint on a canvas and call that art. At the end of the day people who spend time and money into learning great techniques are just left to starve. It sickens me.

I agree with you so much, I've been looking around universities to see where I want to study next year and everything I see just looks like crap, it has no feeling for me. I like variations of styles, but I just feel that if I go to university now I'm going to end up going downhill and producing crap.

not all of the art on your slides was bad, most was, but not all. I do agree modern art for the most part pales in comparison to a more traditional version of art. Now modern sculptures are terrible and a slap in the face to very good work. And fantasy art is incredible.

@JooJooBnutz, well, your view of modern art is sane. People have to deeply delude themselves or be brainwashed in order to "appreciate" this garbage. The same is true of modern poetry, modern music, and modern dance. Artists, since the start of the 20th century, have decided to produce ugliness to say "fuck you" to ordinary people and to raise themselves in their eyes above the common herd. But they also have deceived themselves into thinking they are producing beauty.

@trilobright 3) As for manga, they are comics. Haven't you heard that comics are art? Some of them have great artwork and amazing stories to tell. Saying that you just don't consider it art, generalizing like that and trying to be "funny" by saying "mawnguh" makes me only to not take you seriously at all. My best guess is that it's probably jealousy that leads you to these thoughts cause you can't draw as good.

Same exactly for anime.
