@Rosey212 thats fine, as an opinion. even in l cohen's early days it was never about pure vocal talent. its pretty obvious that kd might have better pipes, or some physical superiority to l cohen.sure he might stood for a nice performance of a song that he who wrote it says of it, "..its a nice song.."now i know he is humble but, wow....emotional punch? tha"ts all relative is it not? i am not here to start a war with ya by any means... just saying sometimes original Is actually better?

@littlenero :Cohen has written and performed many different versions of this song, including with and without the 'lord of song' verse (personally I missed the 'holy dove' verse more).

She has an amazing voice, but like many who cover the song she edited the lyrics in unfortunate ways that alter the poetry. She cut off one of the last sets of lines "But even though it all went wrong/ I'll stand right here before the lord of song/ with nothing on my tongue but hallelujah". This is the uplifting, redemptive end to the song. The poetry just isn't the same if they get chopped off.

@judgeofcharacter1961 Leonard Cohen was in an audience where she sang "his" song and even he stood up at the end! Frankly, he looked in awe at what came out of her mouth....he can write it, sorta sing it, but not get the emotional punch k.d. delivers.
