During that afternoon, on the child-friendly plateau at the summit of Moel Famau, I met up with old chums and recognised many well-known local folk. I chatted with any who would take the time -and the bait- of my ever-ready microphone. One of them was local MP, David Hanson, a respected North Wales figure who, looked as relaxed walking on our lovely hill with his family, as he does when he appears before his parliamentary colleagues representing the good folk of Delyn.
As we spoke the sky was showing a hint of later sunset gold -and the exuberant crowd was drawn by snatches of the exciting rhythms of festivities yet to come....
