i want to build wind generater using hyd pump and hyd motor i to convert speed from pump to motor by factor 2 to 1 i pump rev = 2 motor could any body tell me my energy loss by doing this please helpppppppppppppppp

I need something like this small and light. not to deliver fluid ,but to provide resistance. any info would be helpful

@samgee2007 There is a fine distinction between gear pump and gear motor. A gear pump pressurizes the fluid, using its rotating motion which is provided by an outside source such as an electric motor or an internal combustion engine. A gear motor turns the pressurized fluid into rotating motion. For a hydraulic motor to operate, first the fluid needs to be pressurized by some sort of pump. As you see, gear motor is a type of hydraulic motor where as gear pump is a type of hydraulic pump.
