Also- most metal bands that have attempted to cover this only fail in the vocal department...and this is NOT a horrible vocal performance. It is very difficult to sing. Also- it would sound much worse with some idiot doing the trendy MTV metal screaming bullshit. This is a completely acceptable cover.

Hendrix once said a lot of guitarist only want to do solos & forget about the most important thing in music called "time", which is rhythm.
-
Not bad performance. like you said, rhythm section is most important, nice job guys!

first i was like....WHAT THE FUCK??? THIS IS A TRICK VID!!! but no, it was just a really weird build up to the song. or whatever

Lead guitarist should have a volume pedal, when the solo comes make it sound louder so people can hear it better :D

As much as I love to rip it up and solo, rhythm guitar is MUCH more important. I've been in more than one band over the years that had a "lead" guitarist that could not play rhythm AT ALL. In one band I was only singing with, the lead guitarist was one of these "Yngwie types" with a Strat with a scalloped fingerboard and assorted Yngwie bullshit. The guy could not play anything more difficult than Dokken/Dio rhythm without sounding like complete crap. Even the Dokken/Dio rhythms sounded awful.

Yeah man too many guitar players focus on lead only.... you need both, but more importantly a good rhythm!
thanks for the comments.

I don't know what you are talking about rhythm being the thing here man. Yeah it's a badass groove no doubt and you guys are definitely in the pocket. If you have been in enough bands and played for long enough you know what the pocket is. Either, your solo was very good. You BLEW AWAY the other player up there man so don't sell yourself short as a very good solo player.

It's just my opinion that solos are not the most important thing about metal, to me it's the rhythm, the drive, the machine, the pocket. This song has both and I will have to agree with you that rhythm is probably not the most important aspect of this song, it's just what I think we did best when we played it.
Thanks for your comments. I appreciate comments like these.
