Eine Nacht im Mai- from the very popular 1938 German UFA-movie " Eine Nacht im Mai " with the great Austrian actress and singer Marika Rökk. Here on a recording with the German pianist Peter Kreuder und seinen Tanz-Rhythmikern from 1938. Peter Kreuders records were very popular all over Europe during 1930- and 40'ies, and to day they are still very easy to find on a second hand market.
Jazzy was forbidden in this times! Everybody tried to play the foxtrot so jazzy as possible, but it had to be a foxtrot-rhythm.

Peter Kreuder plays the defintive "Cocktail-Musik", not very jazzy but always with "Schwung". He must have recorded hundreds of similar songs, but today they are most in bad condition because was so popular.
