Both of you were great, rhythm was a bit overbearing, but that's a gibson jumbo, they are LOUD, so he can't really help it.

hey well done!

You guys are great! I just learned Cherokee Shuffle off Steve Kaufman's 4 Hr Workout, but his Bill Cheatham is in A and the band I'm in plays it in G! I have the A part up to the same speed as you, but the B part is still slower. I re-did the fingering for the B part slightly. All the same notes are played in different positions except for the high A (5 on the 6th string) in the second part. Thanks Again!

Good version. It even made you toe tap in your tube socks!

I'm sure he meant well, but regardless of what instrument he's playing, he IS in control of how much--if any--sound comes from it. The bass note and a slight 'chuck' is all that's needed for accompaniment.
Still an excellent job for a beginner.

Yes, maybe, but most likely he's just drowning him out, assuming the mic is on the camera--like our eyes are on the front and our ears are on the side of the head. Learning to listen is more important than anything.

Maybe a little unfair as the mic position can make a big difference and he isnt playing hard

Accompanyist--you're not listening, because you're completely drowning out the lead player.
Nice tune.
Thanks for the tips guys.
I have to chime in and defend Brian - he isn't a bluegrass guitar player, I had given him the music, explained a little of "boom-chuck" to him and we just started taping. Plus, if you notice, he's playing a jumbo Gibson with the sound hole pointed a little more squarely at the camera than mine was... Just an FYI in defense of my friend. :)
