Oh, I get it. This is a perfect honorary tailored part for Hamill. Smith wrote this specifically for him to show the hallmarks of his career--a mixture of his role as The Trickster in "The Flash," The Joker in "Batman" and "Star Wars." It's nice that Smith gave him this here--showing off what he can do and what he has been doing for decades.
