http://www.ted.com On any given day we're lied to from 10 to 200 times, and the clues to detect those lie can be subtle and counter-intuitive. Pamela Meyer, author of Liespotting, shows the manners and "hotspots" used by those trained to recognize deception -- and she argues honesty is a value worth preserving.
TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Featured speakers have included Al Gore on climate change, Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts. Closed captions and translated subtitles in a variety of languages are now available on TED.com, at http://www.ted.com/translate.

I love Youtube. It's the place where everyday ordinary people behind a laptop give themselves a PhD in science for a moment in time to obliterate or seem like they know more than the person with the ACTUAL PhD. Get off your high horse; If you dont agree with her, get your own degrees, do your own research for decades, then you'll have a valid point people should listen to guys.

She mentions Lie To Me as a bad source of information on lying, but at least 3/4 of what she said I already knew from watching that show. Unlike what she said, on Lie To Me they always mentioned the human aspect - how facial expressions didn't necessarily mean lying, and displaying certain emotions could be for several reasons. She didn't really say anything new.

People are entitled to free speech and to respectably disagree without having a Ph.D and 30 years in the field. We should all critically analyze what is said (from whichever authority it may come)... because for example, even two Ph.Ds may disagree with each other.
