This ABSOLUTELY works. I had an Ear, Nose, Throat Specialist recommend this tome as a teen when I suffered from tonsillitis. It has to do with the fact that most rhinovirus (common colds) enter the body through the nasal passages or ears. The key thing is to do this IMMEDIATELY when you start feeling lousy...at the first sign of a scratchy throat, fever, sneezing that isn't allergies, etc. Don't wait to actually be miserably sick.

What is the connection between ears and the common cold? I'm quite sure cold germs don't hide in the ears. I have used peroxide and a Q-tip to clean wax out of my ears for years, but I've never used it for a cold. Peroxide is great as a gargle for sore throats also, and mixes well with baking soda for brushing teeth.

you can totally do this safely it works for swimmers ear too. busted ear drum or lots of wax buildup and it whitens your teeth as well. it's very cheap which is awesome.

I don't know much about the scientific facts, but I do know my dad, who is 71 and in perfect health, has been using the same hydrogen peroxide to brush his teeth for as long as I can remember. And I use it on my face to erase Acne scars. It absolutely works for me. Anyway, my point is, If my dad can use it in his mouth with no ill effects, and I use it on my face, then I'd say it's probably safe.
