November 9th, 2011 marked the first ever Nationwide Test of the Emergency Alert System all over the United States of America. The purpose of this test is to make sure Americans prepare for unexpected jeopardy. Thought I share this not only this country but the whole world as well. For some Americans, the Nationwide EAS Test was an 'epic fail'. For other Americans, me included, it was an epic success, an epic win. I recorded this on that date with my iConverter recorder. This was taken from KSTW CW 11 in Seattle. However, the CW 11 EAS test card was replaced with the Comcast Xfinity one. Xfinity was the one that replace a TV stations EAS card with Xfinity's own one. Enjoy and please comment, but no negative comments!

  • That's odd, I wonder why the digital bursts and SAME tones kept repeating during the announcement?

  • @PartyTilyadrop Hard to tell, but I have survived the nationwide EAS test.

  • @dondonp12004 Same here. :) I remember tuning into the WX station from my hometown (because the weather there is much more interesting, love that the net lets me do that) to listen to this, and the NWS version was rather nondescript. What you've captured is so much better!

  • where i live, we didn't get the announcement after the alert tones went off.
