Another ironic thing is that Social Services in my state (connecticut) recently expanded on their automated system for dispersing these aid programs. Yes, they are cutting jobs which is causing even more people to go on aid programs.

That "Ivy-League Educated" lady is ridiculous, I doubt she needs the food stamps, she's just too proud to take a job that's "beneath" her! All the commenters on here defending food stamp recipients--let me tell you, food stamp abuse is very real. I have lived in Florida, Vermont, Mass., and Oregon, and yes these states give SNAP benefits to anyone who walks thru the door and asks. My own brother, sadly, gets $400 a month in Oregon, and he's 34, healthy, and able-bodied! How is this possible?
