Gee Mr. Harkin, you slam free speech, the man has the right to say whatever. I really like your recent pork bill on 2 million dollars to find out why pigs stink. I'd rather spend 2 million dollars on why politicians like you stink.

Tom Harkin talks here about soldiers as if he's a great proponent. I am an active duty airman and an Iowan. I attempted to contact him via his website several times. I did not recieve so much as an email back. I realize he is busy, but his job is to supposedly look after Iowans. Again, not even a thank you for writing. Thanks, Tom, you're doing a great job.

Second, I have less than zero interest in Rush Limbaugh and his screw-ups. He's a radio personality, not an elected official.
Third, Thomas Harkin lied about his service during the Vietnam War. Thomas Harkin is a lying yellow coward who is guilty of treason against the United States of America.

He did not receive either the Vietnam Service medal or the Vietnam Campaign medal, the decorations given to EVERYONE who served in the Southeast Asia theater.
Tom Harkin was stationed in Japan during the Vietnam War.

The people of Iowa should hang their heads in shame for repeatedly voting for this traitor. Tom Harkin should have been imprisoned long ago for his treasonous rhetoric.

I agree with you. He and every other talk show should be allowed to say their two cents, and no-one should be trying to shut him off. I just wish that they would be professional enough to ignore the talk shows. It matters not what they do in government, there will always be critics coming from all sides. They spend time worrying about Rush, while Rush really has pretty much no power at all other than talk. He does not make law. They do. Yet they fear him. That's funny to me.

Better question:
Why are they misquoting him trying to shut him up? Rush is a private citizen and I thought we had free speech in this country. Since when is it the job of the US Senate to pass resolutions against the free speech of a private citizen?
Fact is some people have claimed to be vets of the Iraq war who later turned out not to be, that is what Rush was referring to and Harkin had to know it. Harkin unfortunately has become known for despicable garbage like this.

I believe that our government officials should ignore the talk shows completely.
Who cares what they say? You see... when these politicans refer to talk shows in our chambers of government, it only serves as a distraction, and a soap opera, and interferes with their work.
It is the same thing as a security guard playing a gameboy while on duty.
They need to ignore talk radio and focus on real debate.

Senator Tom Harkin, You need to get back on the senate floor and apologize to every person who has ever had a Drug problem. The number is very high. Somewhere between 25 and 30 MILLION people have or had this problem. Al Gore Jr., All the Kennedy's, Rush, Your Hollywood Friends, people in your own family and on and on.
