33. How to Identify a Cult

What are some SOUND and BIBLICAL principles for identifying a cult.
Note: Christians are followers of CHRIST Jesus. Christians HAVE NO RIGHT to IMPOSE their beliefs on others by force NOR to use harsh and spiteful words on others simply because you disagree with them.

Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Sounds like we should throw out the entire Bible, all of which was written by men. If we don't need anything but Jesus, we certainly don't need his apostles, prophets, books or anything else.

You are correct all we need are Jesus, but we need the Bible because Jesus has chosen people to represent Him and His teachings here on earth until He returns. Men guided by His Spirit and teachings wrote the books of the Bible so that we could learn from Him. This is just one revelation of God. Nature & the Cosmos is another.

Good video. Christianity is the largest religion in the world. But with you bible verses arent you damming all other religions to hell. Sounds kind of cultist to me.

Not I, but the Words of God in the Bible do that. The problem most have is that they are not necessarily fully convicted or convinced of the Christian God's existence and willingly reject Him for their own pursuits when there is such blessings in serving and worshiping the living God. The Christian lifestyle is amazing even in tribulation.

just sayin - isn't the pope a "single human leader" with a "connection" to the messiah? Don't most cult leaders claim to be interpreting for the messiah?

I'd agree with your statement. The pope's position claims to be the presence of God on earth in an authoritative way with the pope's word being the final word above the Bible. Hence why the catechism is looked as more authoritative that the Bible.

Spiritual abuse is when your elected leaders brainwash your sons and daughters to travel to another country and kill other humans so they can secure natural ressouces.

If a sick and evil cult leader managed to persaude you to kill another human and that it was God's will, and that God will bless us...

Most decent humans would be horrified.

And yet, this is exactly what has happened...

To the whole of the United States and allies.

But it is only the US who claims God's blessing...

The most popular religions with the most deceptive allure are the most dangerous cults; though they might confess JAESUS as the SON of GOD, they hate him to death. The followers of these religions are often misled. These most popular religions have a tendency to be persecutors of conscience.

Jude11 gives 3 identifying marks of a cult.

1) They go in the way of Cain. Cain offered worship that was contrary to God's will. When Cain's offering wasn't accepted and Abel's was Cain murdered his brother Abel Gen4:2-9 2) They follow after the way of Balaam.  Greed for material wealth and pollution of God's word through pagan influence Num22 & 25:1,2. 3)They possess the rebellious spirit of Korah who defied God's authority Num16. Thank you

Sensible and well organized communities generally have a leader to keep the religion from falling apart.
