Daily News @ RevolutionNews.US ~ Is Anderson Cooper a Journalist or Pundit? There IS Speculation that Obama's Trip to India Will Cost U.S. Taxpayers $200 Million a Day, But is That Figure Grossly Overestimated?
The number $200 million a day was first reported by one Indian media outlet and has now become the number being thrown around as fact. Trouble is, it's not true.
During an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, Rep. Michele Bachmann called this trip a case of 'massive overspending' and said that it will cost the taxpayers $200 million a day.
However, the White House does not disclose the cost of trips due to security concerns. "The numbers reported in this article have no basis in reality," said White House spokesman Tommy Vietor. "Due to security concerns, we are unable to outline details associated with security procedures and costs, but it's safe to say these numbers are wildly inflated."
