CORRECTION: I didn't use a 120ohm speaker and remember but rather I used a small speaker that I had available at the time and could barley hear anything!!!

Yes, but in my case I used the PC speakers as an amplifier!
It's connected the same as in demo mode with exception of using a plug into my pc and to the breadboard.

When connecting it to a PIC uC.. Tht is interfacing via Serial communication.. Can I just have the speakers connected like in demo mode without using an amplier as mentioned in the datasheet?

@abby0910 The reason why I used the pc speakers(mic jack) is because I could barley hear the sounds in test mode (with the small speaker).
