On February 13, 2010 the Heart Attack March took to the streets of
Vancouver aimed at blocking the vital transportation routes for the Winter
Olympics, or as the organizers put it, "blocking the arteries of
capitalism." Protesters largely overwhelmed Vancouver police until riot
squads moved in to suppress the demonstrators. This video shows scenes
from the day and talks to participants about what happened and why they
were on the street.

  • anarchy has no reason or structure to speak of. A better question would be, why would an anarchist be interested in the reason behind an anarchy movement?

if anything, it was just an opportunity to draw large scale media attention to issues relative and or not so relative.

  • So I'm an Anarchist. But I actually dont know why we protest the Olympics. Could someone explain it to me? ._. Like seriously, I dont get why!

  • @ScottyMcboy *sigh* You are soooo right :/

  • Fuck the Police...and the corrupt government, the multinational corportations and the Olympics.

  • Yeah, better spending $1b impressing a bunch of eurotrash than feeding the people of this province and country.

  • If it was so great, why'd ya leave?

  • stupid protestors making vancouver where i lived my whole life a horrible place to visit

  • "It was to disrupt the Games and I think we've accomplished that"

Only thing that protest accomplished was turning Vancouver residents against protesters. $1 billion well spent IMHO

  • our games

  • the 6 billion dollars could of also been sent to Haiti but we had to have are games
