Yes, David and Edward, I saw your names on last week's list. We were just 5 on the "perfectionnement" course, sheer luxury. We did get hauled over the coals on more than one occasion, got up with egos somewhat battered and bruised and very much the wiser; most informative, loved every minute of it. Our closing recital on Sunday was projected on screen in the basilica, and Philippe said something may well be put on the Internet (U-Tube probably) before year end. I'll certainly pass on your rgds.
Woinderful! Yes - the course is fantastic - my son and I were there last week.
Please can you give Philippe our greetings and thanks from David and Edward. I have put a few pieces from last week's course on YouTube and with 5* ratings with luck more people will apply for next year.
As a result of the course I have found the right registrations for the Hammerwood instrument in the spirit of St Maximin so we can introduce this wonderful repertoire and exciting sound to English audiences.
Una is professor of organ at the Dublin Institute of Technology (don't let the name mislead you). She gave a recital not long ago on the Bach organ at Arnstadt, Germany. Yes, that is Pierre Bardon turning the pages, we played till close to midnight that day. Una is hoping to send some of her best students to next year's "stage d'orgue" which I happen to be following in St.Maximin right now with Philippe Bardon, Pierre's nephew; a fabulous experience. (Hugo Loos)
Superb organist! Where does Una normally play? If she ever comes to England she'd be welcome to play at Hammerwood where I am trying to fuel the fires of enthusiasm for big organs.
Is that Pierre Bardon turning pages for her at St Maximin?
